AUTUMN

Sweet memories as I fall into your warm embrace.
There’s stillness in the air no wind or worry
Still
like the way a hummingbird stops time
As she gracefully flutters her wings bringing
You to peace
Slow
Calm
Rhythmic breaths in sync
Hearts
Beating the same tempo
The pounding of our hearts seem to be so loud
As if everyone around can hear our
One of a kind cadence
Our one of a kind sound
Overwhelmed by
touch
Or the lack of touch
More temperature
Warmer and warmer
For once a sense of wholeness
Not easily described
But yearned
For moments before this specific time
Wishing each encounter
Would be this real
Effortless
Complete
no more
crying outpours
No more moaning or whales of this special moment
Questioning if I’d ever receive it
You hit me like the crisp breeze of a true autumn day
Sky washed with the dew of the morning
Trees erect yet branches undressed
Allowing stillness
While their
Discolored leaves
Shades of brown, copper and forest green scatter at our feet
Preparing for winter but yearning for spring
Your my autumn
Dusk
Midnight
And everything in between.
